Port Blair, Oct 31: Floral Tribute to Bharat Ratan Smt. Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India on 34th Death anniversary and to the Iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 143rd Birth anniversary was paid across the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands by the Congress Party. Both great leaders of the nation were remembered for their selfless service to humanity and for their contributions towards bringing about unity, integrity and development of the nation.
The PCC President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Smt. Hazeena Syed, National Secretary, Mahila Congress and In –Charge of Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Mr. Santosh, National Secretary, Indian National Youth Congress and In –Charge of Pradesh Youth Congress Committee accompanied with leaders of the Pradesh Congress paid tribute to Smt. Indira Gandhi at her statue at Indira Point located at Southern most point of India.
At Gandhi Bhavan, Port Blair, the PCC Vice President, Smt. Shanta Singh and leaders of Pradesh Congress Committee and other frontal organizations paid homage and took pledge for National Integration. At Rangat homage were paid by Mr. Rangalal Halder, the President, District Congress Committee (South, Middle & North Andaman) and other local leaders of the Congress Party.
