Port Blair, July 23: On 22/07/2012 at 1700 hrs. S.I. Vikash Singh, SHO P.S. Baratang, along with PC/307 Bhanu Issac and PC /383 Mohd. Rafique, while patrolling from Oralkatcha ot South Creek noticed a Savari jeep bearing Regn. No. AN-01/D-2397, carrying three persons coming from opposite direction and stopped near the Beach Dera bus stop.
On suspicion, police party searched the Jeep and recovered 130 nos. of 750 ml. IMFL bottles form the possessions of 3 occupants namely (1) Sarath S/o Mr. C.K. Raju (24) yrs. R/o Adazing, Jeep Driver, (2) Srinu S/o Late Rama Rao (33) yrs. R/o Oralkatcha (3) Venkat Ravana S/o Mr. Appaiya (34) R/o Oralkatcha.
The above persons were arrested and jeep with IMFL was seized from the spot. In this connection a case under excise regulation has been registered at Police Station Baratang.
Police of P.S. Baratang is making it’s sincere efforts, to contain the illegal trade of IMFL in the buffer zone.
