Port Blair, Oct 01: Pahargaon Police has arrested three persons on the charge of stealing laptops and cash from the NHIDCL’s Sub-Contractor’s Office at Kamaraj Nagar.
The complainant Mr. Arvind, contractor of NHIDCL stated that in July 2018, when he opened his office, he found that his office was ransacked and on checking he found that two official laptops, mobile phones, pen drives and cash Rs. 1,60,000/- were stolen.
On this, a Police team consisting of SI P. Jeevan, HC Babu Rao, PC S.N. Pathak, PC Vijay Ram and PC Sudharsanan was formed under the guidance of Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Pahargaon.
On 16/09/18, after collecting sufficient evidence, the suspect Kongu Swamy was called for interrogation and during interrogation he could not give satisfactory replies regarding his source of income and confessed to the crime and disclosed names of accomplices viz. Chinna Tambi R/o Macca Pahad and Sarvana Kumar R/o Austinabad. During the house search, one stolen laptop was recovered from the possession of Kongu Swamy.
On 17/09/18, Police intercepted Chinna Tambi in Bathubasti and Sarvana Kumar in Dollygunj area. With the arrest of these two accused persons, another laptop and other stolen articles were recovered.
The entire investigation took place under the able supervision of SDPO (SA) Mr. Nishant Gupta.
