Port Blair, Sept 30: Since 1986, first Monday of October is celebrated every year in the country as “World Habitat Day”, draws attention to UN-Habitat’s mandate to promote sustainable urban development policies that ensure adequate shelter for all. To mark the occasion, the United Nations has selected the theme as “Municipal Solid Waste Management”.
Alongwith all State & Local Centres of The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), the Andaman & Nicobar State Centre (ANSC) has proposed to celebrate the same at 3.30 pm on Monday, 01st October 2018 at the Conference Hall of the ALHW office by having 2 technical talks / PPT presentations by Engineers / Officers from PBMC and DST, A & N Admn.. Engineering Fraternity from various departments / organizations & students from schools and colleges will take part in the proceedings. Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary, PBMC will be the Chief Guest.
