Port Blair, Aug 31: The first Board of Governors (BOG) Meeting for Dr.B.R. Institute of Technology held today, on 31st August, 2018, in the Mini Conference Room of BRAIT. The meeting was chaired by Prof. K.K.Aggrawal, Ex-Chancellor, K.R.Mangalam University Gurgaon, Haryana.
The BOG members, Mr. Rajesh Singh Solanki, Under Secretary (TC), MHRD, Govt. of India, Prof.Ajoy Kumar Ray, Director, IIEST, Shibpur, West Bengal, Mr. Girish Arora, President ACCI, Dr. Nidhi Sarohe, Joint Secretary (Hr.Edn), Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Dr. Amit Vishwasrao Salunkhe, Regional Director, AICTE, Eastern Region, Kolkata, Dr. Chandrakant Digamber Kapse, Dy.Secretary, MSBTE, Dr.V Alagusundaram, Principal (i/c) BRAIT, Shri Shankar Rao, Lecturer (SG),BRAIT & TEQIP Coordinator, Shri Abhishek Gupta, Asst. Professor, BRAIT and Member Secretary,Shri Arun Srivastava, Dean (Academics), BRAIT attended the meeting.
During the meeting the Principal (i/c) along with the team appraised the Chairman and Members about the various activities and initiatives implemented in the institute. The BOG appreciated the various e-initiatives taken up by BRAIT, during the years and suggested that they should be packaged with copyright and may be introduced to mainland institutes.
The BOG Chairman and other members acknowledged the larger participation of girls’ students in technical higher education in these Islands. BOG also discussed various issues and components to improve technical education in Islands and proposed various strategy to make the students more employable globally. Later BOG members also interacted with faculty members and students separately.
