Diglipur, Aug 13: Once again the Diglipur Police nabbed 10 suspected Bangladeshi nationals from Diglipur. As per the details available the Diglipur police is screening the people and new arrivals at various villages like Shyam Nagar, Radhanagar, Laxmipur villages, lodges and hotels since many weeks apart from strict vision ahead of Independence Day.
Finally yesterday, after thorough investigation 10 people were nabbed from a remote village, who are believed to be Bangladeshi nationals. Among them five are male and five are female.
While NRC is a big issue in National level, nabbing of 10 Bangladeshis at this time, under the leadership of SHO Mahesh Yadav, is believed to be big achievement of the Diglipur police.
This is the first time such a large number of Bangladeshi Nationals have been nabbed by the police in these Islands, which are prone to intrusion from poachers and encroachers.
As per details they will be brought to PS CCS by tomorrow for further investigation. This is not the first time when Bangladeshi Nationals were arrested from Diglipur.
In Dec 2015 the Settler Offspring’s Welfare Association organized a public meeting at Diglipur Bazaar to express their concern over increasing intrusion of Bangladeshis in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
During the meeting the speakers said that the Association members now feel that the intruders are taking away the cake, their jobs and other opportunities from the setters and local people.
On coming 6th Sep the Joint Action Committee of 42 associations and some political parties have also decided to observe Andaman Bandh demanding Inner Line Permit.
