Port Blair, Aug 08: The MP had requested to the Finance Minister for the release of fund for the salary and wages of PBMC vide his letter No 02/MP/ANI/2018/Del-709 dated 20.07.2018. Accordingly, Finance Ministry has sanctioned an amount of Rs 86 crore and has also got Parliament Approval on 07.08.2018 under ‘Supplement of Grants’.
PBMC will get total of Rs 168 Cr for the financial year 2018-19. Out of this, an amount of 30 Cr and Rs 86 Cr have been sanctioned and the remaining amount will be arranged through RE during September/October 2018.
Rs 14 Cr is required monthly for running PBMC and the amount will be arranged through Finance Ministry as assured by Secretary, Expenditure, Mr Ajay Narayan Jha of Finance Ministry and Joint Secretary, Budget, Mr Ajay Srivastava, MOF.
MP has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Finance Minister for prioritizing the funding of PBMC.
