Port Blair, Aug 07: CIARI (Central Island Agricultural Research Institute), Port Blair has predicted that cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the Nicobar Islands during next five days. 207 mm of rainfall is expected in these islands during this period. The maximum temperature will be 30 degree Celsius with minimum temperature of 24 to 25 Degree Celsius, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be 80 to 81 %, and 77 to 78 %, respectively in Nicobar Islands. Wind speed of 28 to 34 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction.
CIARI has advised the vegetable cultivators of the islands to avoid application of manure to the vegetable field as moderate to heavy rainfall is expected.
CIARI has also advised, those rearing goats, to keep the goat under dry clean shelter to avoid pneumonia or breathing problem.
The CIARI AGROMET forecast is applicable from 8th of August to 12th of August 2018.
