Port Blair, July 23: For the people living in BSNL quarters of Shadipur area Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a far cry. According to residents of the colony, since last two months several complaints have been made by them regarding the Garbage Bin, located at the entrance of Nancowry Complex Gate, which is not cleaned on regular basis. Adding to the plight the Garbage Bin has been constructed in such a wrong location that every person who crosses the gate, has to jump all kind of Garbage, which includes all kind of rotten things, sanitary pads, dead animals etc.
“We don’t know why authorities designed such Garbage Bin, which is right at the Gate and also not covered from any side. Stray animals enter the Garbage bin and spill all garbage at the entrance gate. Sadly even after repeated complaints the Garbage Bin has not been shifted yet,” said a resident of BSNL Colony.
PBMC on the other hand busy in claiming big about Swachh Bharat but places like this proves that at ground level, PBMC is making mockery of Prime Minister Modi’s dream campaign “Swachh Bharat”.
