Port Blair, July 16: The Lions Club of Aberdeen Andaman has organized a blood donation camp in association with National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation ltd, Port Blair on 14th July 2018 at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Aberdeen Bazar. Nearly, 35 Donors have donated blood in the camp. The chief guest of the function was the Mr. K.R. Meena, Prinicipal Secretary (PWD, UD Entergy and Medical & Health), A&N Administration and Mr. S. K. Yadav, General Manager (P), NHIDCL was the Guest of honor.
During the keynote address Lion Ratna Kannan, President, Lions Club of Aberdeen Andaman said that blood donation is known as a benevolent donation and she shared the past event occurred with a life of one girl and her life of saved by Blood. She said the Blood is very kind donation everybody has to donate the Blood. She said that by donating blood many poor and needy patients life can be saved during their emergency. She appeals to all citizens to come forward and donate blood for the noble case.
Speaking as the Chief Guest on the occasion, the Principal Secretary said that donation is a type of scarification and will give happiness to them and said that there are a lot of misconceptions related to blood donation but they are not true. Whenever anyone donates blood it also inspires others for the same. He encouraged the people to Donate Blood.
The donors were given certificates, badges & Refreshment. Many donors donated blood for the first time. Senior official from G.B. Pant Hospital were also present in the function.
Finally, Mr. Ashok Pareek, Deputy General Manager (P), NHIDC ltd gave vote of thanks.
