Port Blair, July 12: Mr. R.Mohan, the President of Andaman and Nicobar State BJP unit has written a letter to the Lt Governor, ANI against AN Administration’s Project on 50 Berth Yacht Marina at Viper Island. In his letter, he recorded Party’s sincere gratitude for his recent visit to Viper Island and showing his interest on our historical monuments.
In his letter, Mr. Mohan also questioned that when there was already a committee on National Monuments and Antiques, what was the necessity to constitute another committee in the name of State Heritage Committee.
Mr. Mohan has also wanted to know the logic behind keeping Dr Rohinder Lall, a doctor by profession as a member of the committee.
“The Party can swallow Mr. Aberdeen Blair as the member since he is representing tribal community but keeping Dr Lall in the committee smells rat,” Mohan said in his letter.
Mohan in his letter wrote that Viper is situated just near to our Naval base and ANC HQ, keeping these foreigners free to such a lonely place will not be an intelligent idea of the AN Administration.
“Keeping this problem in mind, even Smti Sushma Swaraj, MP and leader of opposition has also objected on this project and written to the Prime Minister to cancel this. We respect our Administrator and at the same time we want that the Administrator should also respect to our logical demands and give due respect to the emotions of the people of these islands,” Mr. Mohan added.
The Party also demanded to remove Dr Lall from the committee and cancel the Yacht Marina Project.
