Port Blair, July 05: The Adyaksha of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad Mrs. Kalpana Bain today held a meeting at Zilla Parishad Conference hall with all the agitating DRMs of ZP in presence of all Zilla Parishad Members.
During the meeting she requested all the DRMs to call off the ongoing agitation and assured that all the demands will be forward to the Lt. Governor and Chief Secretary through Secretary RD within a week.
She also assured that Zilla Parishad will also seek approval of 51 DRMs soon with names.
It is learnt that, unofficially, it was also told to the DRMs by some members that if nothing is done in this regard, soon all PRI members will go for a massive agitation with all these DRMs.
After all these assurances and positive talks the agitating DRMs today called off the agitation at around 1.30 PM in presence of the Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha.
