Port Blair, June 25: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur organized one day District Youth Convention at Community Hall, Laxmipiur on 24.06.2018 in which 97 male and female participants from different youth club and Mahila Mandals from Diglipur zone participated. Smti. Sangeeta Chand, Deputy Education Officer, Diglipur was the chief guest. She inaugurated the programme and delivered speech on Right to Education.
During the programme Benefit of Yoga, Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, various schemes of self employment (PMEGP), HIV/AIDS, Health & Sanitation etc. topics were covered through the speech delivered by Smti. Siromani Kumari, Yoga Instructor, CHC, Diglipur, Mr. B.Krishna Rao, Secretary of Youth Club, Mr. Ratnadeep Sarkar, Manager, SBI, Diglipur, Mr. Swapan Mallick, Industries Promotion Officer(i/c), Industry Department, Diglipur and Smti. Bobby Samaddar,ICTC Counselor, CHC, Diglipur as resource persons.
Mr. Jagjeevan Ram, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Diglipur welcomed the respectable persons and gathering and he also highlighted about the important of convention especially for youth. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Tapan Biswas, Secretary, Jagriti Sangh Youth Club,Laxmipur.
