Port Blair, June 10: The two day long protest organized by Campbell Bay Traders against issues in loading Cargo for Campbell Bay from Port Blair, finally ended on Saturday. Sources said that protest ended after a delegation of Traders and some PRI members met the Chief Secretary at Port Blair and they received positive assurance from the side of Administration. Later, a meeting held at Campbell Bay on Saturday afternoon decided to withdraw the protest and hence all the shops, which were closed since Thursday were reopened.
The Vessel MV Champbell Bay, which the protesters were not allowing to sail back to Port Blair, was also allowed to sail by yesterday evening.
The traders were reportedly assured that adequate cargo will be allowed for Campbell Bay Island in MV Campbell Bay and also monthly twice one Cargo Vessel will be sent to Campbell Bay with Cargo.
