Port Blair, 18th May: The A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. has inaugurated the Tailoring Course for the women on 15th May, 2018 at a function organized by the bank at the Community Hall, Lamba Pahad, Wimberlygunj.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the bank was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Mr. K Murugan, Managing Director, a large group of SHG members and local residents of the area.
At the beginning, Mr. K Murugan, Managing Director appreciated and highlighted the various schemes and initiatives undertaken by the Management of the bank under the dynamic leadership of the Vice Chairman of the bank. He also stressed upon the training provided by the bank in various fields like Beauty Parlor, Fashion designing, Toy making, Bakery items, etc.
Mr. P A Nazir, Branch Manager, Wimberlygunj branch also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the various schemes of the bank.
Mrs. Elizabeth Mary, Women Development Officer of the bank spoke on the benefits of training Programme. She further appreciated the efforts of the Management of the Bank in making the training Programme available to the remotest part of the Islands.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the bank declared the Tailoring Course open by lighting up the lamp. He further informed the people that A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. is extending all sorts of financial support to the people and all the SHGs for the improvement of their socio-economic conditions. He also urged the people present on the occasion to join for the Tailoring Course and come up with the proposal of obtaining loan for Tailoring machine. He stressed that the Cooperative Bank is extending loans for Tailoring machine which is having a monthly repayment installment of only ` 156/- per month for a period of 5 year term. The Chief Guest urged the people on the occasion to join hands with the bank and avail the benefits and schemes including the various training Programme which are conducted by the bank in Toys making, Computer Education, Mobile Repairing, Fashion designing, Candle making, Beauty Parlour, etc.
The Chief Guest in his key note address conveyed his best wishes to the beneficiaries who have enrolled themselves for the Tailoring Course. He has urged all the SHGs to strive and work had with dedication and sincerity for a better living. He further highlighted that there are tremendous scope of work for SHGs through which the members can empower themselves and become self-independent.
The Programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Varghese, Branch Staff, Wimberlygunj branch.
