VS Pally, Diglipur, May 08: A Panchayat Shopping Complex which was built at VS Pally under Keralapuram Panchayat at Diglipur was allegedly demolished illegally by the authorities recently.
The old shopping complex was in need of the repairs and for the same work, permissions were obtained for renovation, it is learnt. Meanwhile a week ago it was found that the building is missing from its place.
It was pertinent to know that neither the Panchayat obtained any permission from Lt Governor to demolish the building as per rules nor did they pass any resolution in Gram Sabha. Moreover the Panchayat also did not constitute any committee for proper demolition of the building.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha the Panchayat Secretary said that the work was sanctioned only for renovation of the building in two work orders of about 10 Lakhs.
Pradhan usually have financial power of nearly Rs. 6 lakhs and hence to be technically correct, this one work was awarded divided in two work orders for renovating the Panchayat Shopping Complex, which is again not ethical.
Villagers demanding proper investigation against this illegal demolition work and why a small work of about 10lakhs divided in a two work orders.
