Port Blair, Mar 21: If you own a two wheeler, be careful, cases of bike theft is on the rise in city and the Andaman and Nicobar Police seems to be totally clueless in this regard.
Very recently two two-wheelers have been stolen by unknown persons, from city area in broad day light.
Surprisingly when one of the victims reached PS Aberdeen to lodge a complaint he was told to wait for some days as one of the policeman said, “wait for somedays after which you can find your bike in some bushes.” If this remains the attitude of police then one can imagine what will happen to poor public.
In recent cases, it has been noticed that youngsters steal bike for fun and after driving the bikes till the last drop of fuel, they usually dump bikes in some bushes and run away.
Meanwhile, victims are now using social media as a tool to find their missing vehicles and posting details of their bikes in various social media groups.
When contacted the Public Relations Officer of Andaman and Nicobar Police, Mr. Parvinder Singh, IPS said that police is serious doing its job to work out such cases. He also added that police is studying such cases so that such crimes can been stopped in future.
