Port Blair, Mar 08: In a public meeting organized by the Wimberlygunj Block Congress Committee at Wimberlygunj on 6/03/2018 at 5.00 p.m. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Andaman Nicobar Congress Committee thanked all the voters of Kanyapuram Panchayat for supporting the Congress candidate in the bye-election for the post of Pradhan and welcomed the newly elected Kanyapuram Panchyat Pradhan Smti Jameela.
Bye-election to fill up the casual vacancy of Pradhan in Kanyapuram Gram Panchayat, Wimberlygunj, South Andaman was held on 4/3/2018. There were four (04) candidate in the fray. Out of the total 1088 votes polled the Congress candidate Smti Jameela got 847 votes and her nearest rival candidate got only 88 votes. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President congratulated Smti Jameela and the congress workers of the Wimberlygunj for the landslide victory by securing 847 votes out of the total 1088 polled votes and he requested the newly elected Pradhan to work tirelessly for the betterment and all round development of the panchayat.
