Sitanagar, Feb 23: A legal Literacy Camp in association with The State Legal Services Authority & the District legal services authority, Andaman & Nicobar Islands inaugurated today afternoon at the Govt Model Senior Secondary School at Sitanagar, Diglipur.
The camp was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by Hon’ble Justice Joy Malya Bagchi Judge Kolkata High Court presently presiding at Circuit Bench at Port Blair and Executive Chairperson of A & n islands, State Legal authority in the Presence of Learned District & Sessions Judge A & N Islands Mr. Sidharto Kanjilal, Learned Chief Judicial Magistrate N & M Andaman Mr. Mritunjay Karmakar and Learned Judicial Magistrate First –Class Mayabunder & Diglipur Mr. Varun Roy.
Hon’ble Justice Joy Malya Bagchi emphasized that the people must know about their legal rights and the benefits available under various welfare programmes being implemented as per the legislations passed in the parliament. He said the camps motive is to aware weather all the citizens are getting their legal rights and awareness among them about their various rights.
A Computer and reading material was provided to the school to conduct the camp. The District Judge will provide other electronic material on National grievance services. They will also conduct essay competitions, painting and other debates on various subjects in various occasions.
Earlier the students of the Model School presented a welcome song on this occasion. Principal Mr. Ashok Kumar Yadav welcomed the guests. Asst Commissioner Diglipur, Mr. Shailender Singh, DEO Mr. Sashi kumar, students and teachers attended this programme.
