
Port Blair, Jan 30: Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair organized Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karyakaram in association with Gram Panchayat, Mithakari and Youth Club Ograbraj on 29th January, 2018 held at Community Hall, Ograbraj and adopted Ograbraj village as model village for the period of one year.
The Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karyakaram give the platform to young youths to Motivate and encourage youth to strive for excellence in their respective fields of interest, Enable them to realize their full potential and contribute to the nation-building process, Develop leadership qualities among youth, to Provide the members of Youth Clubs an opportunity to participate and address the contemporary socio-economic and development issues confronting local communities. Bring them in the forefront as partners of development process in their villages, Strengthen existing network of Youth Clubs and provide them recognition in society.
The Chief Guest Secretary, Education/Sports, Labour and Registrar (Coop.)A & N Administration Mr. Arava Gopi Krishna, IAS inaugurated by lightening the traditional lamp. And he stressed the need of physical implementation of schemes and creation of own revenue generation programme for better development of the rural youths. He urged the youths to avail maximum benefit of Stand-up India, Skill India other flagship programme schemes of the Govt. of India and run their own employment ventures. He further examine d issues raised by the Pradhan, Mithakari Panchayat and Youth Club members for setting up new Gymnasium centre at Ograbraj under Gram Panchayat Mithakhari.
Mr. Mohd Safique, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Mithakhari had highlighted the various achievements made by the Panchayat and Youth clubs as well in the field of community development and lauded the efforts by NYK for organizing such a great event and altogether 125 youths are grabbed the initiation . He further also expressed his sincere gratitude to Chief Guest for gracing the occasion in this very rural area. Sh. Subir Chander Ex-Upadyaksh Zilla Parishad, South Andaman as special invitees on the occasion. Mr. Lucas Robert, DEO, Wimberlygunj, Mr. Ranjit, Assistant Director Sports, Wimberlygunj, Dr.Chandra Sekhar, Assistant Director, Admn & Sports, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair and Mr Udaya Kumar, Ex-Service Man from Jeevadhara Trust, Mandya, Karnataka were also witnessed the event. Mr Rajendra Pal, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, Shri Jawaharlal Das, Economic Investigator, DIC, Port Blair and Mrs. Sushma Pandey, State Project Coordinator, National Survey on Ministry of Social Justice & Environment, A &N Islands were delivered the lectures on various topics as resource persons. Earlier, Mr. Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair welcomed the gathering and briefed about activities under taken by the NYK and Mr. Safuvan Secretary Youth Club Ograbraj was proposed the vote of thanks.
