Port Blair, Jan 29: The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Mr . Anindo Majumdar laid the foundation stone of Community Hall at Tsunami Shelter, Mithakhari, South Andaman on 27th January 2018 in presence of Adhyakshsa, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman Mrs. Baby Fareeda.
In his welcome address, Mr. Sanjib Kr. Mandal, ZPM of Mithakhari constituency expressed his gratitude to the Chief Secretary for sparing his valuable time for the function.
He also said that the community hall would benefit about 150 families of the adjacent villages for organizing various functions. The Chief Secretary in his address lauded the efforts of Zilla Parishad for infrastructure development in the rural areas of South Andaman.
He stated that Administration is aware of the shortage of fund with Zilla Parishad for developmental works and assured that provision of the same is being looked into in consultation with the concerned Ministry.
He further dwelt on the proposal of the administration for devolution of fund, function and functionaries under Primary Education, Primary Health & Rural Water supply sectors. Earlier, Mr. U.K Banerjee, Assistant Engineer presented a brief on the proposed building.
The function was attended amongst others by the Up Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman Mr. Gadadar Majumdar, Zilla Parishad Members viz. Mr. Jaideep Kumar Dey, Subir Chander, Abdul Bashir, Dasrath Verma besides EE, RCD, Wimberly Gunj and SHO, PS Ograbraj. Mr. Mohammed Shafiq, Pradhan, GP Mithakhari proposed the vote of thanks.
