Port Blair, Jan 25: The 11 days Yuva Dweep Mahotsava concluded with a grand event at ITF grounds on 23rd January, 2018 which also happened to be the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The ABVP’s youth fest marked its beginning on 12th January 2018 on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda by holding a mini-marathon followed by a series of competitions like quiz, debate, dance, singing, art, and craft, photography which witnessed the hearty participation from the students of different colleges of the Islands. The Rashtriya Kala Manch, a cultural forum of ABVP was the driving force behind the youth fest.
On the concluding of the fest the students of the Islands showcased the best performances of the whole festival which besides dancing and singing also included the photography, painting and art and craft exhibition. Mr. I P Singh, Chairman PBMC, was the chief guest of the occasion and Mr. Vikrant Khandelwal, ABVP organizing secretary, special zone, was the guest of honour. The other guests who graced the occasion included Padmashri Naresh Chandra Lall, also the patron of the festival, Dr R N Nath, former principal, MGGC, Mayabunder, Mr. Vijaya, principal VKV, Port Blair and Mr. Rashida Iqbal, Asst. Director, Art and Culture.
The main address of the occasion was delivered by Sh Khandelwal who threw light on the constructive work of the ABVP all over the country as well as in different countries of the world. Dr. K Chandradeep Singh, President ABVP, Port Blair also spoke on the occasion. The winners of various events were given cash prizes and certificates by the guests of the occasion. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sonia ABVP, State Executive member. The major attraction of the event was the scintillating foot tapping dance and song performances by the students which charged the evening and swayed one and all. The program was anchored by Dr. Manu Vashisht, and youth festival was coordinated by Sh Nishant Naska.
