Port Blair, Dec 24: Andaman and Nicobar Command Officers’ Cross Country Championship 2017-18 was organised by Andaman and Nicobar Command on 23 Dec 17. The aim of the tournament was to promote physical fitness and sportsman spirit amongst the service officers posted in the Command. A total of 05 teams participated in the tournament including teams from Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command, 108 Mountain Brigade, Naval Component, Air Force Component and Regional Headquarters Coast Guard.The event was flagged off by Commander Kishore Birra Officiating Commanding Officer, Indian Navy Ship Utkrosh, from Marina Park at 0530 hand culminated near Corbyn’s Chowk. The total distance covered by the participants was 7.5 Kms.
A total of 40 personnel participated with enthusiasm. The Naval Component team won the Andaman and Nicobar Command Officers Cross Country trophy for the year 2017-18. Lieutenant Ravi of Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command completed the run in28mins. Commodore Sridar Ramaswamy, Chief Staff Officer (L,A&P) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and handed over the medals, certificates and trophies to the winners.
