Port Blair, Dec. 13: Beauty with brain was the famous punch line used to denote the Miss World 2K17. Every woman is beautiful by birth but being intelligent and generous at the same time is not everyone’s cup of tea. Women have the talent to convince, console and conduct; they possess the power to change the perspectives of the people. Fashion industry which was once considered a taboo in India is now considered a well reputed profession. Andaman and Nicobar islands which is still developing has put a step forward towards the world of Glamour.
The campaigns introduced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi ‘Bati bacchao, bati padaao’ and ‘Swach barath’ which focuses mainly on women empowerment and clean India was the main concept of the Andaman Beauty Pageant 2K17 hosted by Wized Craft Events, Mumbai. The event took place in Dr. BR Ambedkar Auditorium on 10th Dec 2107 at 5 pm. The chief guests of the evening were Mr. Vishal Jolly (Member of Home Ministry Advisory Committee) and Mr. Indra Pal Singh (Chairperson of Municipal Council). Judges for the event who were specially invited from mainland were Mrs. Shubh Malhotra (Celebrity Fashion Designer), Mr. Tejas P Gandhi (Celebrity Fashion Designer), Manoj Sarvanan (Fashion Analyzer) and Mrs. Kavita Parwani (Director, Crizaze Modeling and AD agency). Five professional models were brought from Kolkata specially to train the contestants and the fitness training was given by Miss. Komal Anand (Islander).
The event started at 5:30 pm by the beautiful host Miss. Rumal. She first introduced the chief guests and the judges. The chief guest Mr. Vishal started the event with a small welcome speech followed by the Audio visual of the 11 beautiful and talented contestants of the show. The first round was the Indian Bridal wear where the contestants did ramp walk all dressed in red attire. The second round was Fab India Fashion round where the contestants did ramp walk in the latest collections of the Indian Wear. In between the rounds various entertainment programs such as general quiz conducted by Mr. Fayaz Asif for audience and Dance empowering women were held. Mr. Gurpreet Singh (TV Actor and the event organizer) made a small speech on his journey as an islander to the Television industry and presented a Hindi poem to motivate the youths of Andaman. The third round was a Saree round which were also a Q/A round of the contestants. In this round the contestants showcased Saree collections of Surat Kazana on the ramp. Various questions were asked to the contestants by the judges among whom few heart winning answers were Dr. Dilpreet Kaur Chani who was asked,’ Who apart from her is eligible to be the winner of the pageant?’ She answered with a bold smile that the winner must not only have a beautiful face but also a beautiful heart. Miss Manpreet was asked,’ What do you think men can learn from women?’ She said, ‘The ability to never give up on anything beyond the peer and family pressure.’ After this round momentous were given to the judges of the show and different Tags such as Best smile, Best Personality and Walk, Best hair, Best skin, Best eyes and Best photogenic face were awarded to the contestants which was sponsored by Shyam ‘n’ Shyam. At last the winners of the pageant were announced by the judges. With the whole lot of suspense the second runner up was Miss. Manpreet, the runner up was Dr. Roshini and with the count often the winner of the Andaman Beauty Pageant 2K17 was Dr. Dilpreet Kaur Chani. She was crowned and awarded with a watch which cost worth Rs. 24,000/-. She is also selected to work on an upcoming music video.
The results of the event is as follows, Dr Dilpreet Kaur Chani declared Andaman beauty pageant winner 2017, Best personality and best walk; Dr Roshni declared 1st runner up and best skin, Manpreet Kant declared 2nd runner up, Bhavni Soni declared as contestant with Favorite Personality, Priyanka Yadav declared as contestant with Best Smile, Neetu Chander declared as contestant with best hair, Sneha declared as contestant with photogenic Face, Ranu as contestant with best Eyes and Meekha raj was declared as contestant with humanity.
The night winded up around 9:30 pm with a promising new start for the uplifting of women and Fashion industry in the Andaman and Nicobar Island.
