Port Blair, Dec 11: In a cultural get-together arranged in its premises a Junglighat today, BAAKPROTIMA, the only RNI-registered Bengali Little Magazine published from A&N Islands presented ‘BAAKPROTIMA SAMMAN 2017’ to its mainland-based feature writer Shri Mrinal Maity – who is at present on a tour to these Islands. The programme, clad with songs, poetry-recitals and speeches, was graced by a number of local cultural personalities namely Shri Birendra Kishore Talukdar, Governing Body Member and Shri Nandalal Debsharma, Programme Committee-Member of the EZCC, Kolkata; Shri Raisuddin Gayen, ex-Member of SZCC, Thanjavur; Shri Anadi Ranjan Bhattacharjee,ex-Member of EZCC, Kolkata, Shri Rabindra Nath Roy and Shri Barun Banerjee, Literary Activists of these Islands, among others.
The main attraction of the function was presentation of Lalongeeti (songs of Lalon Shah) by blooming Folk Singer Kumari Brishti Roy.
This wonder girl mesmerized the audience through her performance on the occasion. Shri Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor welcomed the gathering while vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Birendra Kishore Talukdar, Sub-Editor, BAAKPROTIMA.
