Port Blair, Dec 06: Due to bad weather and cancellation of most of the ferries, no vessel for Neil Island could be sent today as a result nearly 813 tourists got stranded at Neil Island. When Contacted, the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Mr. Udit Prakash Rai has assured all the stranded tourists in Neil Island, via Andaman Sheekha, that no extra fare will be charged by the Airlines for rescheduling the tickets.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone this evening, the DC said that the administration has spoken to all the Airlines regarding this and all have agreed for their support.
He also said that four vessels MV Chouldary, both the tourist boats of Makruzz and Green Ocean will be sailing from Port Blair tomorrow morning at 04:00am to bring back the stranded tourists from Neil Island.
The DC also clarified that there will be no holiday for the schools tomorrow as the Depression has moved far from these Islands.
