Port Blair, Nov 27: It is brought to the notice of the electricity consumers and general public that due to the defect noticed in Alternator of two DG sets (5 MW each) of 20 M/s. Suryachakra Power Plant, Bambooflat, both the units have become out of operation, resulting in shortfall of power. In order to repair these alternators experts are required from mainland alongwith special spares and tools,thereby the repair work will take considerable time. To manage the shortfall of power generation through available power, the Electricity Department is compelled to exercise one-hour rotational load shedding as per following schedule during evening peak hours i.e. 5 PM to 11 PM, in Port Blair and South Andaman, till both the DG sets are put on operation.
The mentioned schedule will be enforced for next one week. The load shedding schedule is tentative and the duration & timing may vary in view of emergency and technical reasons.
As per Schedule-I areas affected will be Bambooflat to Wimberlygunj, BSNL Telephone Exchange, Prem Nagar, Goalghar, Carmel School area, KV-I area,Murdakhari area, Marine Hill, Dugnabad complete, Round Basti, Netaji Club area, BhatuBasti complete, Laxmi Motor Area, Pathergudda, Satellite Colony & New Pahargaon from 1700 Hrs To 1800 Hrs.
Schedule II will be from 1800 Hrs To 1900 Hrs areas affected will be Garacharama Sub Station, Japan Nallah, Austinabad, Prothrapur, Carbyn’s Cove, Brichgunj, Brookshabad, part of Chakkargoan, Mohanpura, Babu Lane, Aberdeen Bazaar from Ratnam Market to Taxi Stand, Aberdeen Thana, part of Gurudwara Lane, Haddo, Haddo Warf, Foreshore Road and upto Civil Aviation Delanipur, Rajasthan Mandir, ALWH Colony, Hawaghar Jn., Dudh Line, Nayagaon, Bargat Line, GPRA Colony,Carbyn’s Jn., Dairy Farm Junction, CPWD Complex,Lamba Line, Ranchi Tekery, School Line complete & part of Minnie Bay.
In Schedule III -1900 Hrs To 2000 Hrs areas will be CARI, AKT Miniplex, Bird Line, Calicut, Kamaraj Nagar, Beodnabad, Rangachang, Burmanallah & Chidiyatapu, Buniyadabad, AIR, DDK Colony, part of Delanipur, part of Prem Nagar, Coast Guard Enclave, Coast Guard HQ, Coast Guard Jetty, Panipath Road, Fortress Head Quarter, Part of Garacharama, Dollygunj, Attompahar, Old Pahargaon, ICMR Colony area, part of Minnie Bay, Mathura, Bridavan, Ferargunj to Jirkatang, Stewart Gunj, Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj to Shoal Bay, Chatham Mill, Chatham Wharf, IOC & MES Power House.
In Schedule IV from 2000hrs to 2100hrs areas covered will be Part of Junglighat, Vijay Baugh, Dairy Farm complete, Part of Gurudwara Lane, Bengali Club, Biggi Lane, Anthropological Museum, Middle Point, Link Road, VIP Road, Police Line, part of Junglighat, Part of Dollygunj, part of Pahargaon, ICMR Colony area, part of School Line and Water Treatment Plant area at Lamba Lane, Vidhyut Bhawan, Electricity HQ Office, PBMC Auditorium, APWD CE Office, Secretariat, Court Complex, PAO, Raj Niwas & Gandhi Park, STS Workshop, BSNL Bhawan, Model School Area, Fire Brigade, ANIIDCO Bhawan area, Girls School, CCS Aberdeen Bazaar area, Supply Line complete, Netaji Stadium area, Electricity Bazaar site office, Jama Masjid, Netaji Club and part of Gurudwara Lane.
From 2100hrs to 2200 hrs in Schedule V- Light House, Phoenix Bay, Fisheries Jetty area, Anarkali, Delanipur, Quarry Hill, Phongy Kyaung, Foreshore Road, Megapode, Teal House, Horticulture Road, Sippighat, Teylarabad, Bimblitan, Manjeri, Guptapara, Manglutan, Wandoor, Chouldari Tushnabad, Port Mount, Tirur, Templemyo & Ograbranj, Shristy Nagar, Atlanta Point, Cellular Jail, , G.B.Pant and Police HQ, Marina Park & Aberdeen Bazaar site office area, Agency House, Garacharama complete & 5 MW Solar Power Plant areas will be covered.
In Schedule VI- from 2200hrs to 2300 hrs areas will be Part of Sippighat, Chouldari Lal Pahar, Tsunami Shelter, Mithakhari, Namunaghar, Dunduspoint, Hathi Tappu, Hope Town, Shadipur, South Point, MazaarPahad, Machi Line, RGT Road, Govt. Press and JNRM College.
In addition to evening hour load shedding, there is day hour load shedding will also be carried as per schedule to undertake the routine maintenance of other power Plants & T&D systems. In Schedule-I- 0500 Hrs To 0600 Hrs &1100 Hrs. To 1200 Hrs, Schedule-II -0600 Hrs To 0700 Hrs & 1200 Hrs To 1300 Hrs, Schedule-III-0700 Hrs. To 0800 Hrs & 1300 Hrs To 1400 Hrs, Schedule-IV-0800 Hrs. To 0900 Hrs & 1400 Hrs. To 1500 Hrs, Schedule-V-0900 Hrs. To 1000 Hrs & 1500 Hrs. To 1600 Hrs, Schedule-VI-1000 Hrs. To 1100 Hrs & 1600 Hrs. To 1700 Hrs.
