Port Blair, October 22: Extraordinary Courage and Efforts shown by a team of Chatham Police Unit resulted into rescuing a Minor Girl from Naxalite Area of Orissa.
As per reports, a minor girl of Andaman College who was staying at the Girls Hostel, Haddo went missing on 14/09/2017 following which the Warden of the Girls Hostel registered a case in the Chatham Police Station.
Later a Police Team was constituted for investigation. Sub-Inspector Manoj Lall, Head Constable Ram Nag and Police Constable Elisaba were given the task to search the girl.
In the first phase of investigation the team found that the Minor Girl was in Orissa that too in a Naxalite area namely Raj Nagar, Kendrapada, Orissa following which the team went to Orissa to rescue the Minor Girl.
After reaching at the location the team with the support of the Local Police Station succeeded in finding the house of the accused but after reaching the house of the accused they came to know that the accused has been taken shelter somewhere in Kasia, Orissa.
According to reports, the team immediately headed towards Kasia, Orissa and rescued the minor girl from the house of the relative of the accused but they couldn’t trace out the accused as he was out since a month.
The Police team then took the custody of the girl and now the minor girl is with her parents. The team after doing a lot of struggle also managed to arrest the accused and the accused is now in the Judicial Custody.
The Police Team of Chatham who went to rescue the girl has to suffer a lot during the investigation in Orissa because the areas where the team travelled to find out the girl was remote villages and were Naxalite area where there is no facilities of Lodging or boarding etc.
The parents of the Minor Girl highly appreciated the Police team of Chatham Police Unit.
