Port Blair, October 16: RTI Activist of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr Akshay Pant has claimed that the Adhoc appointment being given to the various employees in many departments of the Andaman Nicobar Administration is illegal as per the guidelines of the Department of Personnel and Training.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha recently, Mr Akshay Pant said that the Lt Governor of these islands can only give an Adhoc appointment to a Government Servant, that too for one year and later if the administration wants to continue the Adhoc appointment of the Government Servant, a proper approval had to be taken from the Department of Personnel and Training, which the administration is not presently following.
“There are many Government employees who are serving on Adhoc basis in various departments like Social Welfare Department, Health Department etc. since years and the administration is continuously extending their Adhoc appointment without following the guidelines of the DoPT,” said Mr Pant.
Mr Pant later requested the top officials of administration to follow the guidelines of the DoPT in a fair and transparent manner.
