Diglipur, Oct 15: Good number of vehicles were reportedly struck on Andaman Trunk Road on Saturday after breakdown of two heavy vehicles in North Andaman region of ATR.
As per detail the 7 AM Anand bus, which was coming from Port Blair to Diglipur yesterday got stuck in the jungle at Pailoon at around 6.00 PM due to breakdown of sprig leaf at the middle of the road.
The SS Transport A/C Bus, which was just behind Anand Bus was also struck due to this, it is learnt.
Some passengers also complained this matter to the Asst Commissioner Diglipur.
Meanwhile a Spare bus went to Pailoon and brought the passengers to Diglipur, which was reached at 1 AM after midnight.
Meanwhile a fuel tanker, reportedly skidded off the ATR due to mud near Mohanpur yesterday evening. Later another truck from Diglipur went at late night and pulled out the tanker and brought it back to Diglipur.
As per detail all these breakdowns kept a stretch of ATR closed for several hours. In both the cases Fire Service Team of Diglipur and Mayabunder were sent to clear the road.
Due to sliding of the road at Mohanpur, the morning buses coming out from Diglipur were asked to proceed late in the morning by the authorities. After repair of the road later at 8 AM the buses started from Diglipur.
