Diglipur, Oct 03: Diglipur Sub Division celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 02 October to mark the occasion of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. The day started with Prabhat ferries in the early morning at 6 ‘O clock by the school children, procession started from School to Subhash Gram bazaar with school teachers. The District administration under the leadership Asst. Commissioner Diglipur organized a shramdan, after the Shramdan an All –religion prayer organized at Multipurpose Hall Diglipur. School children, several government departments and institutions joined the prayer. Various religious heads participated in this programme. Floral tributes along with favourite bhajans “Vaishnava Jan” and“Raghupati Raghav” were offered to the Mahatma on this occasion.
