Port Blair, Oct 01: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized a two day course on “Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985” from 26/09/2017 to 27/09/2017 for in-service Police personnel from the rank of Constables to Inspector, under the overall supervision of Smt. Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Port Blair, Oct 01: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized a two day course on “Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985” from 26/09/2017 to 27/09/2017 for in-service Police personnel from the rank of Constables to Inspector, under the overall supervision of Smt. Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Principal, PTS, Prothrapur. The main objective of the course is to inculcate awareness regarding laws related to the NDPS Act, 1985 and its relevant issues. During the training, Mr. K.Michal Raj, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS, Mr. B. Saigal, DANIPS, DySP (CID), Mr. Rakesh Pal Govind, Ld. Advocate (Secretary Bar Council), Mr. T. Sebasteen, DySP (Rtd.), A&N Police and Mr. R.K. Sharma, Inspector, CLI, PTS delivered informative lectures on the topics like – an overview on the concept of NDPS Act, 1985, Prohibition, Control and Regulations of NDPS Act, procedure for investigation, prosecution and lacunas of investigations in NDPS cases etc. The training programme was concluded by the Vice Principal, PTS by emphasizing the main objectives of the training programme and its thorough implementation. The course was coordinated by Inspector R.K.Sharma, CLI, PTS under the supervision of Vice Principal, PTS.
