Port Blair, Sept 22: The Lt Governor, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has announced that the Daily Rated Mazdoors (DRMs) working in different Departments of the A&N Administration, since last several years, will get 1/30th Pay +DA. This he said while laying the Foundation Stone for the Modern Fish Market at Mohanpura here this morning. The Lt Governor has accorded approval for 1/30th Pay +DA to the eligible DRMs engaged under various Departments of the Administration w.e.f 1.9.2017.
He also announced that the Minimum Wages for different schedules of employment have also been revised and enhanced. The orders for 1/30th Pay +DA as well as that of revision of minimum wages have been issued. The rates of minimum wages shall be Rs 437/- for Unskilled, Rs. 494/- for Semi-Skilled/Unskilled Supervisor, Rs. 579 for Skilled, Rs. 579 for Clerical and Rs. 37 for highly skilled workers.
Revised wages are still not stared in any of the Govt. Office’s in Andaman. Departments are waiting for the order copy. I thik it will take long time or 2,3 years to release the order copy.
