Port Blair, Sept.20: A Triathlon and Swimming Competition was held at the Swimming Pool, Netaji Stadium here today, the prizes for which were distributed to the winners by the chief guest, Shri Anindo Majumdar, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration. The Secretary (Sports), Ms. Tanvi Garg and the Ex-Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad, Smt. Minati Biswas also distributed prizes to the winners of the Swimming Competition. In his brief address on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the winners of the competition and the Department for the successful conduct of the sports events. He said that Department of Sports is engaged in organizing various sports events for promotion of sports in the Islands. He expressed hope that the Department will continue in its efforts to improve the standard of sports in the years to come.
Earlier, the Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, Shri A K Trivedi welcomed the gathering. He also proposed the vote of thanks.
