Port Blair, Sept. 20: The Chief Secretary has reviewed the status of city roads and observed that some of the stretches have been damaged due to heavy rain in recent past. The road leading to cremation ground at Junglighat, Marine gate towards Dignabad sea shore, near Dairyfarm Junction, near Birdline, opposite to STS Bus Terminus to Private Bus Terminus at Mohanpura and Delanipur junction to Goalghar junction have developed pot-holes. Major repair of these roads can be taken up after the rainy season is over. To ensure public convenience, directions have been issued by the Chief Secretary for filling up the pot-holes within 4 days positively. The Chief Secretary has also directed the Officers of APWD and PBMC to conduct regular inspections of the roads and take immediate repair in case of damage of roads during the rainy season.
