Port Blair, Sept 14: The Indian Coast Guard is carrying out awareness drive on the eve of International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2017 on 16 Sep17 since 08 Sep 17, with an intention to touch conscious of local populace for cleaner beaches and sea. Fourth series of lectures was conducted on 14 Sep 17 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences and Andaman College, Port Blair. During this drive presentation, lectures and interactive sessions were conducted with an aim to generate awareness among young minds in respect to ongoing “Swachh Sagar Abhiyan” towards preservation and conservation of marine environment. A total of 350 students and professors from Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences and Andaman College participated in the event and took pledge to make these islands free from pollution. Students assured further dissemination of this information to their friends and relatives to have maximum understanding of cleaner marine ecology.
