Sarthak KanjilalSarthak KanjilalPort Blair, September 03: The President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), Mr M Vinod has demanded the State Transport Authority to fix tourist vehicle fare of every tourist places in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.Talking to Andaman Sheekha recently, Mr M Vinod said that as the STA has fixed the tourist vehicle fare for various Tourist Destinations of Port Blair City, similarly the STA must fix the tourist vehicle fare in other Islands like Havelock, Neil Island etc.He said that for just 5 kms from Airport in Port Blair the STA has fixed tourist vehicle fare to Rs 100-120 only, which one can also check online but in case of Havelock just for 7 kms i.e from Havelock Jetty to reach Radhanagar Beach the tourist vehicles are charging around Rs 1200, which is totally unjustified.If the STA fix the tourist vehicle fare for every Tourist Destinations in the Andaman & Nicobar Island the Tourists won’t get cheated and the services to tourist will also improve and this will ultimately bring good name for Andaman Tourism.
