Port Blair, Aug 29: It has been learnt that since last several months several dozens of commercial heavy vehicles without valid permits are freely entering North and Middle Andaman crossing Jirkatang Check post. Sources in business world told Andaman Sheekha that a few commercial heavy vehicles often crosses Jirkatang Check post and due to support of high profile people, police never impose challan on these vehicles.
Sources added that if list of heavy commercial vehicles crossing Jirkatang Check Post since last one year is cross checked with the transport department, real picture will come out. Although this is not a big issue but such favoritism enough to prove that the region is functioning under directions of some influential people, who have vested interest.
