Port Blair, Aug 27: On 19 August a lady was admitted to RP Hospital, Mayabunder with severe burn injuries, who was immediately referred to GB Pant Hospital and was airlifted to Port Blair.
On 23 Aug the doctors declared that she was fit for statement.
In her statement she reportedly alleged that her in-laws burnt her by pouring Kerosene oil on her. She said that anyhow she managed to come out in open with fire all over her body and later public saved her.
Whole incident was reportedly narrated to Executive Magistrate and police, which was recorded by police in video camera and in mobile.
Finally the husband of the accused was arrested by the Police on 25th night. The family of the lady alleged that they were offered 3 Lakhs to remain silent and co-operate in softening the case. Meanwhile the victim lady died yesterday morning at 0920 AM at Port Blair.
It is still not clear that what action will be taken against the rest of the family members the accused, who were also allegedly involved in this crime, as per the victim’s statement. Further details are awaited.
