Port Blair, Aug 24: On 22-08-2017, acting upon credible information about illegal transportation of IMFL in huge quantity in a white car, SHO, P.S. Billiground along with staff of O.P Badam Nallah conducted checking of the vehicles coming from Mayabunder by barricading and intercepted a car bearing Reg. No. AN-01 J- 4592 coming from Mayabunder from which 45 Nos. 750 ml IMFL Bottles Original Choice Deluxe Whiskey all co-sealed were recovered. Upon this all the IMFL bottles and the vehicle used for transportation has been seized and the driver namely Dibakar Das S/o Shri Jagadish Das (29) yrs R/o Smith Island, Diglipur was arrested from the spot after observing codal formalities and a case U/s 32 Reg. III of 1876 has been registered against the driver at PS Billiground.
In another raid conducted on 22/08/17, a Police party of PS Rangat consisting of SI Parvash I/C PS Rangat, HCs P.K. Pandey, Simhachalamrecovered 230 Packets of Baghban 69 Zarda from Kaushalya Nagar area from the possession of Shri. K. Dhanasekar S/o Kareeppaiya R/o Dairy Farm while he was transporting the same from Port Blair by vehicle bearing Reg. No. AN 01 F 1212. Both the above operations were supervised by Shri. George Lalu, SDO Rangat.
