Port Blair, Aug 24: While Islanders are facing nightmare everyday in most of the sectors like road, power, transportation, telecommunication etc. police department is perhaps the only department, which has not let people of these Islands down.
Although during in last few years many Islanders were deeply worried about police work culture, but there are pleasant and welcome changes under the leadership of new DGP, Ms Nuzhat Hassan.
It seems every single transfer done after arrival of new DGP has worked well for Andaman and Nicobar Police and perhaps this is the reason the present police setup looks highly motivated and focused.
Media reports on various crime cases, worked out very professionally by various police units, are also bringing a great deal of confidence among Islanders. Public believe that Police department is also dealing with crime cases against women and children very professionally, which is a great relief for Islanders. Andaman Sheekha hopes that A & N Police under leadership of new DGP will continue this good job and keep these Islands safe for everyone.
