Port Blair, Aug 17: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur organized Swachhta Pakhwada (Fortnight) from 1st to 15th August, 2017 at Diglipur zone. On this occasion various activities were organized by the NYK like Oath taking ceremony by the students of Govt. Secondary School, Ramnagar on 1st August, 2017, essay writing competition at Yushuva Covent School, Subashgram on 08.08.2017 and Govt. Secondary School, Ram Nagar on 12th August, 2017. Cleanliness drive and Rally were also organized at Ram Nagar and Radhanagar on 13.08.2017 and 15.08.2017 respectively.
Meanwhile saplings were planted by the NYK on 13th August, 2017 at Gram Panchayat Complex, Ramnagar. Mr. Suboth Mondal, Up-Adhayaksh, Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman were present as chief guest and planted saplings. Mr. Swapan Kumar Biswas, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Ramnagar was also present as guest of honour.
Mr. Jagjeevan Ram, District Youth Coordinator welcomed the respectable persons and gathering and briefed about the importance of Swachhta Pakhwada. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Reepan Nandi, NYV, NYK,Diglipur.
