Diglipur, Aug 16: The 71st Independence Day celebration was held in Diglipur in a befittingly with traditional enthusiasm and fervour. Asst Commissioner, Diglipur, Shri Awanish Kumar hoisted the flag on this occasion at Vivekananda stadium. In his Independence speech Asst Commissioner highlighted the activities and achievements of various departments of administration. The salutation was participated by NCC cadets & Police department and Scouts & Guides.
Patriotic Songs were presented by school children of GSSS, Diglipur and Subhashgram. Asst Commissioner distributed sweets and fruits to the indoor patients of CHC, Diglipur after this ceremony. STS Department in association with Commander Indian Coast Guard arranged special Bus service for the students of class IX & X of GSSS, Diglipur, Subhashgram & Sitanagar to see the Indian Coast Guard ship at Aerial Bay. In the evening a friendly football match was organized at Vivekananda Stadium.
