Port Blair, July 18: Andaman & Nicobar Police in its commitment of zero tolerance towards Illicit bootlegging and smuggling of IMFL, detected yet another gang involved in transportation of IMFL outside Port Blair to remote far flung destinations. A vigil team of Police personnel comprising SI Jeevan, SI Dhiraj Kishen, Head Constable Babu Rao, Sanjit Surin & Shaukat Ali alongwith Constable Emamudin Khan, Bhaskar Rao, SN Pathak, Mohd. Basheer & RS Rakesh led by Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO Pahargaon intercepted 2 suspects who were trying to load huge quantity of IMFL into mechanized dinghies to be transported to Havelock Island from Joda Quilan, Sippighat.Port Blair, July 18: Andaman & Nicobar Police in its commitment of zero tolerance towards Illicit bootlegging and smuggling of IMFL, detected yet another gang involved in transportation of IMFL outside Port Blair to remote far flung destinations. On search of the consignment 40 bottles of 750 ml IMFL of different brands alongwith 33 packets of tobacco were recovered from the possession of accused Nirmal Biswas and Ranjit Mondal, residents of Havelock. Both accused were arrested on the spot and entire recovered property was seized from their possession.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. MA Naushad, Dy. SP/SA (I/c) under overall supervision of Smt. Urvija Goel, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman.
