Port Blair, Jul 07: Prominent leaders of Jan Kranti Party A&N under the leadership of their General Secretary Shri Prakash Minj met DGP, A&N Police Ms Nuzhat Hussain in her chamber and submitted few demands to improve the police Service in A&N Islands. The Demands included better working conditions for Police Jawans posted in out posts like Narcondam, Long fall & East Islands, Ration, money for regular Home Guards, 13 Months pay for Fire Service personal as well as improvement in the safety of pedestrian while crossing red light junctions by introduction of zebra crossing, pedestrian signals and stopping of free left turn, introduction of CCTV Cameras, Road dividers and deployment of traffic Police in front of schools.
After giving a patient hearing to the problems raised by the leaders of JKP A&N Islands the DGP reportedly promised them to look into the matter and take immediate actions for betterment of the society.
