
Port Blair, June 22: As part of the All India Programme being organised by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi, the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands organised “Human Chain” programme in front of the Secretariat Entrance Gate today (22nd June, 2017) to express strong protest and discontentment against the betrayal and totally indifferent attitude of the Central Government towards the genuine and legitimate demands of the government employees and pensioners such as (i) Grant of enhanced allowances (ii) Option-1 parity for pensioners (iii)scrapping of New Pension Scheme (iv) scrapping of stringent conditions of MACP (iv) implementation of Gramin Dak Sewak committee report (v) Equal Pay for Equal Work for Daily Rated Mazdoors etc. A large number of government employees & pensioners took part in the programme braving heavy rain formed a “Human Chain”. Prior to the “Human Chain” the employees and pensioners took a solemn pledge to continue their fight till the achievement of genuine demands. Shri P.Satyapal, Shri T.S.Sreekumar, Shri R.D.Yadav, Shri S.L.Vinjit, Shri Clement Stephen, Shri R.Raji and Shri Anand Raj led the employees and pensioners for the formation of Human Chain.
