Port Blair, June 06: Thousands of residents of Havelock Island who were cheering the opening of first ever Petrol Retail Outlet in the island, found their joy, very short lived as the Petrol Retail Outlet, has now gone dry hardly within 05 days of its inauguration.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, the residents of the island said that this is just a show off by the administration as the Petrol Retail Outlet has been opened without proper planning for logistics.
“What we are going to do with the outlet, which doesn’t even store sufficient quantity of Petrol and goes dry so quick,” a resident said.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, the General Manager, ANIIDCO, Mr BL Meena said that there was delay to send the Petrol due to the shortage of Boats. However, the IOC is taking all possible steps to transport the Oil to Havelock.
“We are already having a requisition of 12kl and very soon there will be the availability of petrol in the Havelock Island,” said the GM, ANIIDCO.
