Port Blair, Apr 26: Our Rights Organization, Port Blair has invited the attention of the Lt. Governor to the problems faced by islanders for making electricity bill payments which can be sorted by introducing online payments for electricity bills.
In a letter addressed to Lt. Governor the Chairman, Mr. C. Sarvanan has urged to introduce the online payment for electricity bill.
Informing this, he said that consumers do not have any other option to pay electricity bill except the concerned site office forcing one to skip the duty hours just for paying the bill or else in the Common Service Centre alongwith service charges.
The counters are often seen busy with long queues, he added. Introducing online payment system will help a common man without any hardship to clear the electricity bill and also to help the Government servants to reach office on time, who often get late in making payment of electricity bill.
