Diglipur, Mar 24: First season of the Kishorinagar Cricket League (KCL) got underway at the Vivekananda stadium Diglipur today. Chief guest Asst Commissioner Diglipur Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS inaugurated this tournament in the presence of Pramukh Diglipur, Mr. Shyamal Mondal, BDO Diglipur Smti Lalita Tigga, Pradhan Kishorinagar. After declaring open this tournament Chief Guest said sports activities will foster spirit of discipline, self – help, cooperation, and friendship and above all a true healthy life style among youth in the society and asked the participating teams to maintain the Harmony & brotherhood during the tournament. He also requested participants to take part alongwith cricket other sports like Badminton, volleyball table tennis should also encouraged. Pramukh Diglipur unveiled the match Trophy on this occasion. Once the Games were declared open, the flag were also hoisted at stadium by the Asst. Commissioner.
Altogether14 teams will play matches for 24 days. Final match will be played on 16th April. The winner will be awarded Rs.50, 000/- with trophy and runner-up will be awarded Rs. 25,000/- with trophy. Earlier Pradhan Kishorinagar Mr. Amar Mondal welcomed all the guests in this occasion. Mr.Naren Mondal, ZP member proposed vote of thanks.
