Diglipur, Mar 24: The All Kisan Sabha, Andaman & Nicobar Unit 4th Conference was held at Diglipur on 17th March 2017 at Subhashgram Panchayat Hall in the presence of 112 delegates including 75 males and 37 females from all over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The condolence resolution was moved by comrade Tapan Kumar Bepari. The conference was inaugurated by comrade Madan Gosh, the Vice-President of Central Committee, New Delhi and the conference was greeted by Comrade K.G Das the Secretariat member of State C.P.I. (M) and Comrade D. Laxman Rao, Secretary of State C.P.I.(M).
Comrade Dr. Gouranga Majhi, Secretary, AIKS Andaman & Nicobar Islands Unit presented the report to the conference collaborating the struggles of the peasantry in Andaman & Nicobar Islands against the crisis ridden neo-liberal policies of the Central Government and Andaman & Nicobar Administration. 30 delegates participated in the discussion on the secretary report and enriched it by concrete suggestion and criticism based on their areas experiences.
Clarifying on certain issues the Secretary replied to the discussion and accepted several suggestion and critism made by the delegates. Thereafter Secretary report was unanimously accepted and also adopted 41 resolutions. The 4th Conference unanimously elected 45 members to the All India Kisan Committee which met immediately afterwards under the presidium and elected 11 Office bearers (Functioning State Committee A & N Islands Unit). In the meeting Comrade Tapan Kumar Bepari has been elected as President, Comrade Dr. Gouranga Majhi as Secretary, Comrade Ramjiban Majhi, Comrade Nikunja Biswas, Comrade Anil Das and Comrade Golak Biswas as Vice-President, Comrade Projit Kumar Sarkar, Comrade Dilip Kumar Karmakar, Comrade Swapan Halder & Comrade Miss Sisilia as Joint Secretary and Comrade Raj Kumar Show has been elected as Finance Secretary.
On the last of the conference mass rally was held at Subhash Bazar, Diglipur which was addressed by Comrade MADAN GOSH, Vice President Central Committee (National Committee) A.I.K.S Comrade K. G Das (Secretariat member of C.P.I.(M)), Comrade D.Laxman Rao (Secretary of State C.P.I (M) A & N Islands) Comrade Tapan Kumar Bepari (Newly elected President of A & N, A.I.K.S Unit).
